For a long time many players have requested a shops GUI which they can use to buy a range of essential items. Well, I’m excited to announce that this feature, along with a whole range of new changes has just been released on the server. Keep reading this post for more information on all of the new features. Quick GUI Shop We finally have implemented a new shop feature which sells basic items to players, and it can be accessed from anywhere on the server without needing to teleport. We have decided to only stock from a limited range of categories, and have an emphasis on component items - for example we sell dye and wool, but not coloured wool. You will still need to be prepared to craft extra items, and also consider that it may be cheaper to buy from player shops. Player Shops The flagship feature of change of this update is the new Shop Manager for your player shops. You still set up a shop using the /shop command while looking at a chest, but now there is a brand new GUI with a whole range of additional options and features. When you do the command a default empty shop will be created, and then you need to open the chest shop to set it up ready for business. It's much easier to have a look for yourself in-game, but I’ll quickly run through what each option will do: Change Shop Name: Self explanatory, allows you to enter a custom name for the shop. Change Shop Price: Set the price you wish to sell items for (or buy items for). Change Shop Quantity: Set the default quantity of sale that the price will correspond to. This determines the ‘items in batch’ number of the shop. Add Shop Stock: Left click to add items from your hand, or right click to add items from your entire inventory. Remove Shop Stock: Left click to remove all stock, or right click to remove one stack of stock. Change Shop Item: This will select the current item you are holding in your hand as the new item being sold in the shop. Ban Players: If someone keeps buying out your entire shop, you can ban them from accessing it using this feature. Open/Close Toggle: If you want to close your shop (or reopen it) you can do so with this toggle. It will not delete the shop, but will stop players from accessing it. Shop Advertisements: Brand new feature which enables you to buy adverts using Essence in order to promote your shop. Change Shop Colour: Like your rank colour, you can now change the text colour of your shop in line with which tier rank you are. Change Shop Discount: You can now set temporary discounts at your stock to encourage business, with different time lengths and discounts available to different ranks. Toggle Buy or Sell: If you want to change your shop to buying items from players (or revert to selling items) you can use this toggle. Note that it will use the same price and quantities that were set in the earlier options. Toggle Notification Settings: Change how you get notified for your shop. Remove Shop: Permanently close your shop and reclaim all of the stock in it. You can also hover over the item in the bottom of the GUI to see your current shop information. You will have noticed that Shop Advertisements are the first feature to use Essence on the server. At the moment you can earn Essence by completing /jobs at spawn. As a reminder, this is a new currency on Coast Survival designed for use with many cosmetic or chat related features. Copper will remain the regular currency for Minecraft items and trading with players, Essence is the new currency for cosmetic related features, and Tokens will remain as the currency used to get in game ranks, titles and crates. More features that use Essence will be launching soon. New Commands and Rank Features There are a range of new general and rank features available in this update (or have been released recently that you may have missed): /Essence - Everyone - View your current Essence balance /SetWeather - President - Change your personal weather settings /Bottom - President - Go to the bottom most layer in the world /Ascend - Emperor - Teleport up one level /Extinguish - Emperor - Stop yourself from being on fire /FireResistance - Emperor - Get temporary Fire Resistance Shop Colour - Dependent on Rank - Different colours are available for your player shop Shop Discount Duration - Dependent on Rank - Different time options for your temporary player shop discounts, see the table below: Other Updates Jobs received a range of updates to fix incorrect rewards and ensure appropriate difficulty at all levels. We ask any players currently on level four to not complete that level yet, as it may create issues when adding new jobs later this week. Coast Survival has been updated to native 1.12.1 meaning that you should now be able to connect without issues on this version and log in with Minechat. An item used to exploit claims has been disabled pending a further update. Toggle related messages have been changed to green to prevent them being confused for moderation messages. Vote parties received an update. Overall, this has been a huge update with lots of work put in by Monkey and our testing team to identify potential issues. We really hope that you enjoy all these new features and find the new shops system to be much better and more flexible going forward. Make sure to leave us a reply with your thoughts, and also your guesses as to what we might be introducing or updating next.
